|Torrential rainfall prompted mass flooding in Colorado, causing evacuations, power outages and road closures in multiple counties including Boulder, Jefferson, Larimer and El Paso Counties. The flood has resulted in two confirmed deaths, at least nine people missing and National Guard rescue efforts. People Rescues – In total, 1,750 people and 300 pets were rescued through air and ground operations by the Colorado National Guard and U.S. Army division in Fort Carson, Lt. James Goff of the Colorado National Guard Public Affairs Office said Saturday evening. -Coal Creek 780 customers to Lyons and Estes – 780 customers, 634 customers in Pine Brook Hills, about 18 customers in Estes Park.

Public safety crews responded to submerged vehicles on Dillon Road 0.2 miles east of 287. Three individuals were pull out of an upside down vehicle. They were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The occupants of the other vehicles managed to escape the water.

9:00am — Because of flood waters and road damage there is no safe access in or out of Lyons. The Colorado National Guard is assisting with the voluntary evacuation of the Town of Lyons. Residents seeking to be evacuated will be transported with tactical vehicles to LifeBridge Church in North Longmont. We are asking people who are looking for family or friends in Lyons to not go to the evacuation site. Volunteers and staff will be taking names of evacuees as they arrive. Starting at 9:30 today, LifeBridge Church will staff a public phone bank at 303-776-2927 to help Lyons evacuees reconnect with their family members. The Public Call Center number for Boulder/Boulder County is still 303-413-7730. The National Guard will address details on Lyons evacuation at the 10 a.m. media briefing. If you are in immediate danger please call 9-1-1.

Sept 12 Road Impacts: Road collapse: The eastbound lane of Highway 34 in Big Thompson Canyon at mile marker 74.5 has collapsed. The westbound lane has a large crack through it and has become unstable and at this time the road is completely impassable. Highway 34 remains closed from the Dam Store up to Estes Park. Source
